THE BEAUTY OF FORM,
REFINED TO THE UTMOST
Beautiful, but even more beautiful.
The answer I arrived was simple forms completely shaved of any decorative elements –patterns, signs or symbols. And I refined the curved form itself to the extreme.
THE BEAUTY OF COLORS,
AN EVOLUTION FROM TRADITION
Pottery is one of the most important traditional craft in Japan.
Traditional pottery usually has natural colors called “Tsuchi-mono” or dirt-colored.I inherit its feelings of Wabi-Sabi, and add new colors through countless trials and errors.

THE BEAUTY IN OUR MIND,
EMBRACING THINGS
The Japanese love and cherish things-in-themselves.
Pottery is fragile. But treated with loving care or making repairs, those wares could be used for generations. That is a charm of pottery, and I hope my works will also be loved and used for a long time.
