これは、10年の約束です。
Gallery musをオープンする前から、私は岩崎龍二さんと出会っていました。
幼い頃から父の陶芸工房で育った景徳鎮の「陶芸っ子」として、当時の私は、さまざまな技法の中から自分が心から好きだと思える作品を探していました。
もちろん、釉薬という分野も、決して避けては通れないものでした。
その頃、私はたくさんの作家の作品を見て、さまざまな釉薬を用いた器に触れました。
そして最終的に、私は岩崎龍二さんの作品に一目で心を奪われました。
岩崎龍二さんの釉薬から最初に感じたのは、「心地よさ」と「清らかさ」です。
余計なものを感じさせず、濁りもなく、決して騒がしくない。
たくさんの色を組み合わせることにこだわるのではなく、最も純粋でシンプルな単色釉や二色釉を用いながら、独自の技法によって、器の上に現代的で美しい一枚の絵画のような世界を生み出しています。
20年以上にわたって陶芸と向き合ってきた岩崎さんは、器形においても非常に高い完成度に達しています。
無駄のない、流れるような美しいフォルム。
特に花器からは、作品そのものが持つ生命力と、ひとつの作品としての完成された美しさを強く感じます。
自らの魅力を十分に表現しながら、余計な装飾は加えない。
人に気に入られるために作るのではなく、最もシンプルな形を、最も美しい表現へと昇華させています。
そして、岩崎龍二さんの作品において最も重要なのが、彼自身が生み出してきた数々の釉薬です。
繊細で上品な釉薬は、触れるとまるでシルクのようになめらか。近くで見ると、表面には小さな粒子がきらめき、そこに美しいグラデーションが重なります。
一つひとつの作品が、まるで壮大な抽象画のよう。思わずいつまでも眺めていたくなる魅力があります。
10年前、岩崎さんは金属の特性を生かし、「環流し」「アイスグリーン」「煌赫」など、7種類のオリジナル釉薬を生み出しました。
そして現在は、椿、葡萄、無花果など、さまざまな植物の灰といった自然の素材も取り入れながら、さらに研究と創作を続けています。
現在、岩崎さんが手がける釉薬は13種類にも及び、日本を代表する色釉の作り手の一人となっています。
岩崎龍二さんは、今もなお学び、挑戦し、革新し続けています。
品種、器形、そして釉薬。そのどの分野においても、常に自分自身の視点を持ち、独自の答えを探しながら、新たな可能性を切り拓いています。

今回の深圳での個展は、岩崎龍二さんにとって中国で初めての個展です。
そして、Gallery musにとっては、岩崎龍二さんの4度目の個展となります。
今回は、これまでに発表してきたすべてのシリーズを一堂にご紹介します。
中国の皆様に、岩崎龍二さんのこれまでの歩みと作品世界を、最も豊かで、最も包括的なかたちでご覧いただける機会になると思います。
これは、10年の時を経て実現する、ひとつの約束です。

9月5日起，我将在中国深圳的一家画廊举办个展。
衷心期待各位莅临观展。

这是十年前的约定。
早在Gallery mus开业之前，我就已经结识了岩崎龙二先生。
作为从小在父亲的陶艺工坊长大的景德镇“陶艺孩子”，当时的我正从各种技法中寻找自己发自内心喜爱的那种作品。
当然，釉药这一领域也是我无法回避的。
那时，我观赏了许多艺术家的作品，接触过使用各种釉药制作的器皿。
最终，岩崎龙二先生的作品让我一见倾心。
岩崎龙二先生的釉药给我留下的第一印象是“舒适”与“清雅”。
没有多余的装饰，没有浑浊感，也绝不喧闹。
他并不执着于组合多种颜色，而是运用最纯粹、最简单的单色釉或双色釉，通过独特的技法，在器皿上创造出一个宛如现代美丽画作般的世界。
投身陶艺二十余年的岩崎先生，在器型方面也达到了极高的完成度。
线条流畅、毫无冗余的美丽造型。
尤其是花器，让人强烈感受到作品本身所蕴含的生命力，以及作为一件作品所具备的完美之美。
在充分展现自身魅力的同时，不添加任何多余的装饰。
并非为了取悦他人而创作，而是将最简单的形态升华为最美的表达。
此外，岩崎龙二先生作品中最关键的，是他亲手研发的众多釉药。
这些细腻高雅的釉药，触感如丝绸般顺滑。近看时，表面细微的颗粒闪烁着光芒，其上叠加着美丽的渐变色。
每一件作品都宛如一幅宏大的抽象画，拥有让人不由自主想要久久凝视的魅力。
10年前，岩崎先生利用金属的特性，创制了“环流”、“冰绿”、“煌赫”等7种原创釉药。
如今，他还在创作中融入了山茶花、葡萄、无花果等各种植物灰烬等天然素材，持续进行着研究与创作。
如今，岩崎先生研发的釉药已多达13种，已成为日本代表性的色釉创作者之一。
岩崎龙二先生至今仍在不断学习、挑战与革新。
无论是陶土品种、器型还是釉药，在每一个领域，他都始终秉持自己的视角，在探索独特答案的同时，不断开拓新的可能性。

此次在深圳举办的个展，是岩崎龙二先生在中国举办的首次个展。
而对于Gallery mus而言，这也是岩崎龙二先生的第四次个展。
本次展览将汇集他迄今为止发布的所有系列作品一并呈现。
相信这将是中国观众以最丰富、最全面的形式，领略岩崎龙二先生迄今为止的艺术历程与作品世界的绝佳机会。
这是历经十年时光才得以实现的承诺。

Starting September 5, I will be holding a solo exhibition at a gallery in Shenzhen, China.
I sincerely look forward to welcoming you all to the exhibition.

This is a promise I made 10 years ago.
I had met Ryuji Iwasaki even before I opened Gallery mus.
As a “ceramics kid” from Jingdezhen who grew up in my father’s pottery studio from a young age, I was searching among various techniques for works that I could truly love from the bottom of my heart.
Of course, the field of glazing was something I simply could not avoid.
During that time, I viewed the works of many artists and handled vessels made with a wide variety of glazes.
And ultimately, I was captivated by Ryuji Iwasaki’s work at first sight.
The first impressions I had of Ryuji Iwasaki’s glazes were “comfort” and “purity.”
They feel free of anything superfluous, are completely clear, and are never garish.
Rather than focusing on combining many colors, he uses the purest and simplest single-color or two-color glazes to create, through his unique techniques, a modern and beautiful world on the vessel that resembles a single painting.
Having dedicated over 20 years to the art of ceramics, Mr. Iwasaki has achieved an exceptionally high level of perfection in the forms of his vessels as well.
Their forms are beautiful, flowing, and free of any superfluous elements.
In his vases, in particular, I strongly sense the vitality inherent in the work itself, as well as its complete beauty as a standalone piece.
He fully expresses the inherent charm of the piece without adding any unnecessary decoration.
He does not create to please others, but rather elevates the simplest forms into the most beautiful expressions.
Furthermore, the most important aspect of Ryuji Iwasaki’s work is the numerous glazes he has developed himself.
These delicate, elegant glazes feel as smooth as silk to the touch. Viewed up close, tiny particles shimmer on the surface, layered with beautiful gradients.
Each piece is like a magnificent abstract painting. It possesses a charm that makes you want to gaze at it forever.
Ten years ago, Mr. Iwasaki harnessed the properties of metals to create seven original glazes, including “Kanshi,” “Ice Green,” and “Kōkaku.”
Today, he continues his research and creative work, incorporating natural materials such as the ashes of various plants—including camellia, grape, and fig.
Today, Mr. Iwasaki works with as many as 13 different glazes, establishing himself as one of Japan’s leading creators of colored glazes.
Ryuji Iwasaki continues to learn, take on new challenges, and innovate.
Whether it’s clay varieties, vessel forms, or glazes, he maintains his own unique perspective in every field, seeking his own answers while opening up new possibilities.

This solo exhibition in Shenzhen marks Ryuji Iwasaki’s first solo exhibition in China.
For Gallery mus, this is the fourth solo exhibition featuring Ryuji Iwasaki.
This exhibition brings together all the series he has presented to date under one roof.
We believe this will be an opportunity for our Chinese audience to experience Ryuji Iwasaki’s artistic journey and creative world in the richest and most comprehensive way possible.
This is a promise fulfilled after a decade.
